I will be a high school newcomer. Is it too early to start planning for school?
I really want to get into my dream school, NYU, and I ask myself: it is too early to think about college. I am not even a newcomer to the school, but I know that the registration will be accepted for Most colleges and I really want at NYU. What are some things I do during the summer to improve my chances in the fall, etc.? I think I'm too young In order to receive a "job" (I am 14 and not quite sure, the minimum age for work in Texas) but there is everything that I could be involved? I the ACT last year as part of the Duke University Talent Identification Program and scored a 18 and was given state recognition. Will this in any way to improve my chances? Maybe I'm a bit young to be freaking out about college, but I want to be truly successful.
You're not too young to think about the college, good for you. You should start volunteering (a hospital, school, church, homeless shelter …), you do not need a job, but you should Volunteering To start your community, which really helps. You should also consider joining the Leadership Council in your school (this is a good opportunity for schools, in order to see that you are a leader) or other extracurricular activities (track or other sports).
